My favorite salad dressing is Ranch but I stopped buying and eating Ranch a long time ago because the different brands began to taste awful until. First time I made it ,it disappeared and questioning eyes were asking is that all there is? Good dressing but the Garlic was too strong and made the dressing spicy so I tossed out the first batch and made another with no garlic. This is simply the best! Hope you enjoy! I've been making blue cheese dressing for over 35 years using a recipe I developed. Your recipes are wonderful, keep up the good work. The only modification was just a bit of sugar. No one can tell the difference.

I’m not a huge fan of it, but if I can make my own Ranch I’ll add it. I love making this. I had no idea that there was dill in Ranch Dressing! I haven’t bought ranch since then–I just keep making this up when I need some. This recipe makes me wonder why I ever bought ranch dressing at the store. This dressing is awesome! My dill and chivers were dried, not fresh. I love chives but a little less would help balance the flavors. I’d use the same amount (1/2 cup). I’ve read online that Dijon mustard, lemon zest, and/or smoked paprika would enhance ranch dressing, too.
I honestly had thought of using fresh dill but since I had dried dill at home and usually like to test the recipe as is before tweaking, I went ahead and used dried. Rather than adding tabasco, I use a small amount of worcestershire for an umami boost. I like all of the proportions of ingredients that you used they are all in harmony. The chicken was moist and delicious.

I love your blue cheese dressing and I said because I like to try new recipes. I substituted 1/2 teaspoon onion powder for the green onions as that is all I had on hand.
Grated the frozen blue cheese and it was wonderful. Delicious but next time I may omit the garlic until right before serving, I don’t mind it but other folks might. As it sits the dressing does become more intense with the garlic as the recipe states so start out with just a small clove and work your way up if you like the more intense flavor. I made your ranch dressing last night and it was wonderful. I made this twice and perhaps I did something wrong but it was not tasty. LOL! He loved it.

Raised in the South it was the only one I knew and was so disappointed when I moved to Oregon and it couldn’t be found anywhere. Absolutely love this recipe for its ease and deliciousness. I have substituted Greek yogurt (strain it in a fine sieve if it’s a bit watery) for the buttermilk.
Also left out the Tabasco since my garlic was somewhat spicy. I made the full recipe w/o the buttermilk then separated the mixed ingredients into separate bowls.

It’s so easy and blows the store bought stuff out of the water! I ended up making a second bacth two nights later. This ranch dressing is awesome! This is a very yummy ranch dressing recipe! I have used both chives and when short, a green onion/chive mix.
